Finally Posting the Engagement Photos...
Okay, so I am still getting the hang of things and keeping this blog up to date. My sister is way better at this than I am and she has her hands full with two little ones!! I will try to get better...especially when things get more interesting. ha ha. I was just looking at the calendar, trying to figure out how much longer until all the bridesmaid dresses need to be ordered & realized that five months will soon turn into 4 months, 3 months, 2, then 1! Almost had a panic attack. I feel like most of the big things are done, but I'm not ready to start stressing over all those little things like decorations and flowers! I feel the stress of it starting to arrive very soon. To top that off, we still have not officially started on our kitchen and our refrigerator is on it's last leg. We bought all the appliances brand new on Black Friday at Sears, but they are sitting in their boxes in the barn. We were supposed to start on the kitchen about a month ago until the bid came back at $12K for just the cabinets!!! This price did not include installation, or any special glaze. I almost died right then and there of a heart attack. I thought Jason's head was going to explode...we had to go to chili's and get him a double vodka on the rocks. That helped. Our friend Penni suggested some rejects from Leedo, but that fell through as well. Then our friend Chriss has a cousin who builds custom made cabinets (beautifully) for a fraction of the cost Home Depot gave us. The catch is that we can't seem to track him down to come give us a quote or even for him to say he will do the job. We can't just redo the cabinets we have because they are basically ready for a nice bonfire. I'm so tired of hand washing dishes that both of us refuse to cook if it requires us having to wash a huge pile of pots and dishes. We'd rather eat sandwiches on paper plates until we get to install our beautiful new dishwasher that is just sitting in our barn. So sad.
Tomorrow, I plan to clean out an area in the barn to make my work out room. This is another room that was supposed to be and just fell through the cracks. Don't get me wrong...I love this tiny little 950 square foot house...but I hate remodeling!!! If I had the money to pay someone to do it all, that would be great. It would even better to have another place to stay, while all that remodeling was goind on. It is not fun to dodge ladders, saws, drillls, exposed wires, etc. every time I get up to pee at night. The dust is even worse. One day, everything will be done and I will just love love it...but for now...my to-do list just seems to get longer by the day!
Okay, enough of my ramblings...here are some engagement photos that we took November 16th in downtown Brenham. Our photographer was Kathlyn Dragna. I highly recommend her...very talented and a great person to work with. Her website is www.dragnaphoto.com.

Hello, everyone. I have been wanting to get one of these started for a while now. I want to be able to have a journal to share and reflect back on and reminisce. Jason and I have been back together since March 2006 and got engaged on July 16, 2008. Our wedding is May 16, 2009 in Eagle Lake, Texas. I regret not blogging about everything that has happened over the past 2 1/2 years, so I have a lot to catch up on.
The site of our Wedding is at The First Baptist Church of Eagle Lake and the reception will be held at the Eagle Lake Community Center. Jason is excited to have his Marine buddies as his groomsmen and all will be dressed in the Marine Class A's or "Alphas." I have to say that I am excited to see that! I will probably cry as soon as I see him standing at the end of the aisle in that uniform!
Here are a couple of pictures of what I have decided on so far...my dress, rings, and bridesmaid dresses (the color is not the right color...I am going with Euro-Fuchsia and the color pictured is Euro-Eggplant):
The Ring - A Jaffe
My Dress - Casablanca
Bridesmaid Dresses - Bill Levkoff
